Virtual Reality is expected to get a bigger role in the 2017 E3 Conference with all major developers and publishers announcing their VR games and experiences as part of a new and revolutionary trend to go virtual and immersive. One of the most awaited companies was Bethesda and its crown jewel Fallout 4, which is finally (and officially) announcing a Virtual Reality version of the game.

“Experience Fallout like never before, with Fallout 4 VR, coming October. Revealed during the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, Fallout 4 VR will be available on PC for the HTC Vive. Learn more at https://beth.games/2s0Iy1P

With the power of VR, you’ll be able to get up-close-and-personal with the dangers of a post-apocalyptic world as you fight for survival. Featuring new combat, crafting and building systems fully reimagined for VR – including VR-enhanced V.A.T.S. – Fallout 4 VR isn’t just a jaunt through the Wasteland, it’s the entire game. The whole world is fully explorable. That includes hundreds of locations, characters, and quests. This is your opportunity to step into the Wasteland and experience Fallout 4 in a whole new way.”

Fallout 4 VR will be a game changer in the Virtual Reality industry, the game is an iconic brand and beloved among gamers, and Bethesda is a major and experienced company. Fallout 4 VR would be the largest and most complex VR of all, it has over 100 hours of varied gameplay, way above the 2-4 hours average in Virtual Reality.

It is still unknown if the game will ever be released for the Oculus Rift, but right now it seems rather unlikely, let’s remember that Bethesda’s parent company is Zenimax, which is still facing a $500 million litigation against Oculus.
