VRcade Arena –Warehouse-scale VR Platform
Arcades are an affordable and easy way for gamers to get into Virtual Reality, and they can even offer experiences that are too expensive to replicate at home.
VRstudios Announces VR Arcade for 8-Player Experiences
VRcade Arena supports warehouse-scale VR experiences for up to eight people in a room. The company offers an Attraction Management Platform (AMP) that allow facilities to set up their own Virtual Reality arcades.
VRstudios’ technology includes a unique VR headset and several input mechanisms such as controllers or guns. These devices are positionally tracked and wireless, which allow players to walk freely in large spaces. The company is experienced in setting up VR entertainment centers worldwide, but this new project aims to expand the business and the fun even further.
“We are excited to release the VRcade Arena, delivering on an original vision of the company conceptualized over five years ago,” said Dave Ruddell, VRstudios’ co-founder and Chief Architect. “From our 40+ VRcade systems installed around the world, we have learned what it takes to build and manage an arena-class product that can push the limits and best practices of the growing LBE industry. The VRcade Arena enables an exciting new level of immersive out-of-home experiences for everyone, from casual VR enthusiasts to serious eSports competitors.”
VRcade Arena features two new games designed exclusively for the platform and other third-party experiences already licensed out. The games look extremely exciting but it is still unknown what exactly will be available in the near future.
