Oculus Go: Cheap, Comfortable and Wireless VR

The Oculus GO VR headset makes a lot of sense at $200 and it’s the industry’s best chance to get to the masses with its considerably high price/value rate and its affordable price tag. VR setups with tethered headsets are a little bit uncomfortable and require a powerful PC to run it properly. On the other hand, mobile headsets deliver a good taste of what immersive Virtual Reality has to offer but depending on smartphone specs and battery life is a huge disadvantage.

Standalone VR headsets are therefore considered by many as the future of Virtual Reality, and even though the Oculus Go won’t be the first one in this category, it’s definitely the most accessible high-quality option soon to be available and has the full support and marketing power of social media giant Facebook.

The $200 Oculus Go headset will hit the market at Facebook’s F8 conference next month according to rumors. However, the company is already showing it off, for the first time, on the GDC show floor.

The Oculus Go is light and comfortable, featuring three straps to adjust the size across the sides and top of your head. The controller is relatively small, with a trigger around the back, a touch-sensitive thumb pad and two buttons on top, and a wrist strap dangling from the end. The design is simple and effective, with no space being wasted or unnecessary extras.

Designed with special breathable fabrics, the Oculus Go is fully adjustable and comfortable. People can even use with glasses. With crystal-clear optics, optimized 3D graphics, and integrated spatial audio, the new Oculus Go will bring your virtual world to life.
