The Google 3D image search is finally live and available to searchers. To execute a search, simply open your mobile browser, search for an animal or any other 3D supported objects on Google search and then click on the “View in 3D” button for the specific object.

This will pop out the 3D image of the animated objects and augmented reality on your phones that you can view via your phone’s cameras. The 3D or AR search feature is available on any iPhone or Android device that is ARCore- or ARKit-ready. The search feature will work on an iPhone XS or Safari.

For now, the range of 3D or AR searches that you can carry out is very limited. The range is currently restricted to animals such as tigers, penguins, giant panders, alligators, raccoon, Shetland pony, brown bear and macaw. The library is expanding by the day so maybe you might unveil other spectacular 3D images of other animals and animated objects in the coming days, weeks, months and years. The search information will pop out as a square of info midway on the page and there will be launcher that will pop out the 3D animated animal that you have searched or overlay it in augmented reality.

This week, Google launched its new Lens features for both Android and iOS. Google wants both the Lens and AR to be more useful to its users in the future. It’s expected that the Google searches will pop out more 3D objects and even enable items to be stored for instant browsing in augmented reality.

Below is a look at some of the animals that are already appearing in augmented reality in the Google searches carried out by CNET staff writer Scott Stein:-

You will be able to view the images in 3D and then view them as objects using augmented reality via the camera on your phone.
