For the first time, excerpts of the sequel to the original Star Wars: Vader Immortal were shown. These were showcased during Disney’s in-house exhibition D23 Expo which was held in Anaheim, California although the footage or moving picture is not yet available online. The release date for the Vader Immortal Episode II has also not yet been determined.

The reviews for the first Vader Immortal were quite positive so fans were obviously enthusiastic about its sequel.

The new Star Wars virtual reality experience Vader Immortal Episode II features the Dark Lord of Sith who is here to teach the player new tricks. One of the impressive features about the virtual reality game is how it brings out the scale and presence.

The first few minutes of it were showcased during the D23 Expo where the creators of the game were also present and held a panel discussion on the sequel.

The sequel’s full title is Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode II. In this title, the player will meet a powerful and strong Lord Vader who likes the player and is interested in personally training them on the Force. It’s a strange turn of events as the biggest villain in the galaxy is now transformed into a teacher.

In the episode, Vader is more like a mean hard-ass coach akin to Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Episode II picks up from where Episode I left. By now, you have already mastered combat using the lightsaber and you hence learn how to use the Force to fight your battles.

You can sharpen your saber skills in the upgraded Lightsaber Dojo II where you will be forced to fight with a light sword and where you can also master how to use Force to grab, move or throw things. You will also be able to hurl your lightsaber at the enemy and watch as it cuts them in half before having the lightsaber boomerang back into your hands.  You can accomplish all this with a single button and with moving your hand.

Vader Immortal creator ILMxLAB has included lots of creatures in episode II. There is a Supermonster known as Darkghast who appears to be a cross between a Rancor (from the Return of the Jedi) and the Mind Flayer from Stranger Things 3. The Darkghast, the giant Rancor-like creature, has a mouth that is the size of the player and you have to battle it out. In virtual reality, this gigantic creature will be right in your face and it makes for quite an incredible experience. The details of the background story of this monster are hidden in the environment.

ILMxLAB hasn’t provided any details on the release date for Vader Immortal: Episode II yet but players can afford to wait a little long. There is the Episode I and the idea of stepping into Star Wars in an immersive virtual reality is probably the kind of experience that we have been waiting for over the past 40 years. The future is finally here and a few more months or even years of waiting won’t hurt.

Below is a video on the panel discussion about Star Wars: Vader Immortal Episode II that were held at the D23. However, as already mentioned, the trailer for this sequel was not included.
