The venue will showcase various entertainment experiences beyond just your typical entertainment outings. Experiences include visitors teaming up to escape from an Egyptian Pyramid, exploring the Orion Nebula, surviving a zombie apocalypse, creating a digital masterpiece or challenging friends on a racetrack.

The concept represents the social entertainment of the future. It will appeal to diverse people looking for various experiences ranging from passionate film-goers to gamers or simply someone who wants to have a good time. It takes the visitor on a rollercoaster of motions and combines genres and subjects that are seemingly incompatible into one long adventure. According to the VR World CEO Leo Tsimmer, the platform represents the future of technology and it humanizes technology in a way that brings people closer together in real time and space.

The space was designed by MFGA Architects’ Mark Foster Gage and includes a 30-feet tall futuristic sculpture with a giant projection that transforms the center staircase of the venue into a constantly changing object of fractal landscapes, melting ice blocks as well as iridescent deep-sea fauna. The sculpture was created by the Endless Co. design studio and has been aptly christened Hypercube. It has sophisticated software that enables digital artists to showcase their creations.

Apart from the art games, the space also has a custom sinuous bar and lounge which is used as a nightlife destination by the discerning over 21 crowd looking for new experiences which have been augmented with craft cocktails and cutting-edge technology.

There will also be DJ sets, regular nightlife programming as well as club events. In the main and basement club levels, there will be popular virtual reality content and activations as well as a full bar. The mezzanine floor will feature lounge seating where visitors can enjoy a more intimate socializing while immersing themselves in mixed reality art, film and interactive installations.

This flagship New York location will be VR World’s template for its future centers in the major urban markets over the next year. VR World will also be continuing with its popular educational program for students. It will also host industry panels that will go beyond the routine conversations on virtual reality and offer participants creative meetups and cultural events that will bring under one roof some of the most exciting voices in NY in the areas of arts, tech as well as entertainment communities. VR World hopes to tap into the full creative capabilities of virtual reality headsets.

The center is located on 8 E 34th Street. An all-day pass with cost $64 and a two-hour pass costs $44. You can purchase these at the door or on the VR World website at vrworldnyc.com.
