Oculus Quest 2, Facebook’s new VR headset, is launching on October 13th. The headset, with its superior specs and affordable pricing, is set to drive Facebook further into a market dominant position in the VR hardware market. There are also new titles that will be launching alongside the VR headset on day one. In addition to these, Quest 2 will also support all the games that were released for the original Quest. The new games set to launch with Quest, will also be playable with the old Quest headset.

Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat

Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat is a VR rhythm game from the popular virtual YouTuber Kizuna AI that is set to launch with the Quest 2 headset on October 13. In the game, the “virtual artist” Kizuna AI joins the player in a virtual reality space where you can enjoy music together. No gameplay details have been released yet about Kizuna AI but according to the developers Activ8 and Gemdrops, the game will give players an experience that can only be had in virtual reality. More information about the game will be released at a later date. Kizuna AI is a virtual YouTuber with the highest number of subscribers, boasting some 4.3 million subscribers spanning all her channels. Kizuna AI has also appeared in a number of videogame collaborations including Azur Lane and Dolls Order. Her most recent appearance was as a DLC character in the Neptunia Virtual Stars by Compile Heart.

Rez Infinite

During the Facebook Connect, it was announced that the long-awaited Quest treatment for Rez Infinite is finally here and will launch on October 13th on both Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2. Rez Infinite is a psychedelic rail shooter that was originally released two decades ago for Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 as Rez. It was re-released as Rez Infinite with virtual reality support along with some fresh content for the PC and PlayStation 4 a few years ago. Now the game is set to make a debut on Facebook’s Quest platform where it will be released for both the original Quest and the new Quest 2. Rez Infinite is a psychedelic experience that is mix of rail shooting play together with techno music soundtrack and some really striking visuals. Like the PSVR and PC VR versions, the Quest version of Rez Infinite will feature five areas drawn from the original Rez game that was released two decades ago. It also features an extra area that has been specifically developed for virtual reality which is known as Area X.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

This zombie-slaying virtual reality adventure will be the biggest Quest 2 launch title. The developer Skydance Interactive confirmed this during the Facebook Connect mid last month. This will be a full version of the game and it will also be launching on the original Oculus Quest headset.

Little Witch Academia VR

Less than two months ago, the developer UNIVRS announced that Little Witch Academia VR would be debuting on Oculus Quest on October 13. The game will also be launching on other platforms including Oculus Rift, PSVR and SteamVR early next year. In Little Witch Academia VR, you become a character that can fly freely around the sky on a broom and even race by tapping into magical powers. The game leverages UNIVRS’ unique anti-motion sickness technology in significantly minimizing the impact of motion sickness that plagues many virtual reality games. It takes you on an immersive flying experience that will make you feel like you are truly flying in the clouds.

Population: One

Population: One is VR Battle Royale shooter which has also been confirmed for Quest, Quest 2 and PC VR this fall. The game developer BigBoxVR confirmed this during the Facebook Connect mid last month. The game will be available on all the three platforms and will have cross-play support so if you have a Quests or Quest 2 support, you will be able to play the game with PC VR players as well.

Space Channel 5

Space Channel 5 is a dance game where you use dance moves to take down evil alien invaders and protect the earth. This dance VR game is based on SEGA’s legendary Dreamcast rhythm game by the same name. Heroine Ulala navigates you in the “Space Channel 5” world. As a player, you will need to master various life-saving dancing moves to some cool beats. When you strike more poses, you get more viewer ratings.

Beat Saber Multiplayer

While Beat Saber is not new on Quest, multiplayer support for the game is new. The free Beat Saber update enables up to five players to tackle any of the Beat Saber’s tracks together. This update is also coming to PC VR headsets and PSVR.

It is noteworthy that many of the Quest 2 launch titles come from Japanese developers.
