Star Wars lightsaber fights are coming up to new arcade destinations. ILMxLab and Nordic are planning to expand the existing app to include dojo fights from the third part of the Vader Immortal series. The arcade will offer lots of experiences. Players can even compete against Vader in person and viewers will be able to more easily watch VR headset-wearing fighter with their lightsaber blows.

Star Wars Lightsaber Dojo Coming to Arcades

The arcade fights will be done with new top VR headsets, most possibly Oculus Quest 2. The device is wireless and there already exists a partnership between Oculus and ILMxLab. Oculus Quest was also at the center of the first Arcade offer. It is not yet clear when and where the new arcade offer will be based in. The first version was temporarily available in select shopping malls and cinemas before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic early this year.

All the three Vader episodes are currently freely available if you purchase Oculus Quest headsets.

ILMxLab implements the arcade project with the location-based entertainment provider, Nomadic. Nomadic was founded in 2015 and has over the past five years been focused on delivering modular virtual reality arcades which can be rapidly installed with little effort in cinemas and shopping centers. Nomadic also operates its own gambling halls.

The extent to which the Vader Dojo will be implemented in amusement parks is still not known. Initially, there will be six stations. Players will be able to enter their results on a leaderboard and to even compare them with those of other players. A ticket will cost $10.

According to the Virtual Reality startup Survios, the VR arcade content business is currently more lucrative than the home VR market with arcade market currently growing at a rate three times faster.
