Star Wars: Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge is arriving on November 19th and a new trailer shows lightsabers and much more.  This will be a Quest exclusive.

The release date for the Star Wars: Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge has been confirmed. A new trailer accompanying the announcement gives a peek into the experience. You can watch the trailer below.

As can be deduced from the name, this title expands on Disney’s World of Batuu. It is set in the sequel trilogy-era where you will crash land on the Batuu planet and head to a bar from whence you will embark on a number of adventures, get yourself into some scraps, repair droids while also meeting various other Star Wars characters. While we already knew about C-3PO and R2D2, the trailer also gives us the first glimpses of Yoda.

The developer ILMxLAB had previously confirmed that Star Wars: Tales Of The Galaxy’s Edge will feature a lot more game-y elements than Vader Immortal, its previous release, and will include blaster-based battles among others. The end of the trailer also shows that players will wield a lightsaber in this upcoming Star Wars hit. It also appears like players will encounter a Jedi temple and will also learn to once more wield the force.  This part will play pretty much like in Vader Immortal.

It has also been confirmed on the Oculus blog that the November release will constitute the first part of the Tales Of The Galaxy’s Edge experience and that the second installment will be launched in 2021.

This will be an Oculus Quest exclusive for the time being. However, like Vader Immortal which eventually made its way to PSVR, this title could also make it to other platforms, including perhaps, PC VR.

Star Wars fans have now had lots of action on the virtual reality front in the recent past. There has been the PSVR port of Vader Immortal and Electronic Arts added a full virtual reality (VR) support throughout the game for the multiplayer space fighter Star Wars: Squadrons. With the Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge now coming over the next month, fans could finish the year on a high note.
