Lone Echo is one of the most popular Oculus exclusive titles. Its highly anticipated follow-up, Lone Echo II, is now set to launch on the Oculus Rift Store this summer. Lone Echo II was initially set to launch in 2019 but multiple delays occasioned postponements of the launch date.

The game was initially announced way back in 2018 and it isn’t clear yet what caused the serious delays in its release. The game’s developer Ready at Dawn was also acquired by Facebo0ok along the way. It is likely that the developer may have been forced into an extended delay to allow time for porting the game to Oculus Quest, partly through development. However, the announcement this week during the Oculus Gaming Showcase now confirms that the game will be coming this summer on Oculus PC for Rift as well as for Quest via the Oculus Link connection.

The developer, Ready at Dawn, has been mum lately regarding its plans for the game. However, there has been a confirmation that Lone Echo II will be a direct continuation of the Jack and Liv story from the original game. Lone Echo II seems like an evolution of the linear narrative gameplay but one that incorporates polished virtual reality interactions, the same mechanics that propelled the original Lone Echo into one of the best-rated titles on the platform.

The developer Ready at Dawn also shared some GIFs of the game. These do not necessarily reveal much about the game or its gameplay.

The wait is over, however, and we will soon get to immerse ourselves in Lone Echo II this Summer on Oculus PC. It will be interesting to see how it has evolved over its long development.
