Arashi: Castles of Sin

Arashi is the newly announced stealth-action sandbox game that’s been built from the ground up for VR. The title is set in feudal Japan. You will assume the role of Kenshiro who is an elite shinobi and the last surviving son of the Arashi family. Accompanied by your wolf companion Haru, you have to recapture the bandit-occupied castles of the noble families.

According to the description of the title in the PlayStation blog, it will be up to you on how and what methods to use to approach your mission. You can use light and shadow to stay hidden or you can rely on distraction to simply avoid the hard-to-defeat opponents. Arashi: Castles of Sin is set to be released for PlayStation VR in summer 2021.

Winds & Leaves

Winds & Leaves has already been announced and is also available exclusively for PlayStation VR. The title is being developed by Trebuchet which is also the studio behind Prison Boss VR.

In Winds & Leaves, you assume the role of a gardener who has to breathe some life back into a world of barren and dusty hills. To accomplish this, you have to collect life-giving energy and also plant trees. Every thriving forest in Winds & Leaves becomes a safe haven that will also serve as a starting point for more exploration.

You will encounter tall and ancient structures that will give you new skills, strange biomes that need unusual seeds, and changing weather conditions that present their own sets of challenges for the flora.

In the middle of the steppe, you will be crossing the central point of contact which is the garden.  This is a horticultural canvas that you can design to your wishes. Winds & Leaves will be out on July 27th. You can check out the trailer of the game below. Additional details about the game are available on the PlayStation website.

After the Fall

This is a co-op shooter for up to 4 players that is set in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles inspired by the 1980s and which is covered by ice. Almost two decades following an unknown disaster, the post-apocalyptic city is brimming with cruel once-human creatures known as snowbreed. These creatures have driven humanity underground where they are in a bitter struggle for survival.

As a player, you will be assuming the role of a harvest runner and will be one of the few who will be brave enough to explore the cold ruins. The remnants of mankind count on you to explore these monster-infested zones for resources. In return, you will be rewarded with larger and more powerful weapons with which you can take on Snowbreed more effectively.

After the Fall has been developed by Vertigo Games which is also behind the co-op zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine. During the PS VR Spotlight, the studio published a new video revealing details on the game world, opponents as well as weapons. The game will be released this summer for PSVR, PC VR, and for the Oculus Quest platforms. Check out the PlayStation website for additional details on After The Fall.

Fracked

This PlayStation VR shooter reportedly provides lots of freedom of movement. Fracked combines fast and immersive run-and-cover gameplay with skiing, freerunning, climbing, wild shootings, ziplining, and base jumping. All of these activities have been seamlessly integrated into the gameplay.

Fracked developers aimed to combine the game-mechanical depth and the freedom of conventional games with the immersion and control of the virtual reality medium. Fracked is only playable with the Move controllers.

Fracked plot is similar to that of the other action games. A facility deep in the mountains has been overrun by an army of trigger-happy madmen, the aptly named “fracked”. You have to fend off their attacks.

Fracked is being developed by the same studio that is also behind Phantom: Covert Ops and will be released exclusively for PSVR in the summer of 2021. The trailer below is new and focuses on the Fracked gameplay. Check out the PlayStation website for additional details on Fracked.

Wanderer

In this game, you will slip into the role of Asher Neumann who is traveling through time with the help of a chattering wristwatch so as to prevent the annihilation of human civilization. You will encounter Nikola Tesla, find yourself on the moon, decipher ancient symbols, and even drum cheerfully in front of thousands of spectators at the famous Woodstock Festival.

The title leverages a combination of escape room puzzles and action pieces. Asher will also need to connect items from different eras in innovative ways in order to advance the story. Wanderer was developed by the New Zealand indie studios Oddboy and M Theory and has a playing time of between five to seven hours.

A new trailer released by the team showcases more of the unique characters and the puzzles in the game. Wanderer was initially announced in spring and is slated for release in the third quarter of 2021 for PSVR, PC VR, and Oculus Quest platforms. Visit the PlayStation website for additional details about Wanderer.

Sniper Elite VR

The highly successful Sniper Elite franchise is making a debut on PlayStation VR and other VR platforms this summer. The title is set in the Second World War and you get to experience a piece of the gripping story and action from the point of view of an Italian partisan who has risen up against the fascists.

This title has been developed from the ground up for virtual reality and supports the aim controller which should make the sniper gameplay a lot more realistic.

For the virtual locomotion, Rebellion has collaborated with Just Add Water and Coatsink to implement a range of movement and comfort options. As a result, you are free to choose whether you want to move smoothly or via teleportation. You can even set various parameters to suit your needs and sensitivities.

Sniper Elite VR comes to PlayStation VR, PC VR, and Oculus Quest platforms on July 8th. Find additional details about the title on the PlayStation website.

Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey

Survios and Taito are set to release this Japanese action-puzzle game for PSVR, following its debut on Oculus Quest. For the first time in Puzzle Bobble history, the bubble puzzles will take a three-dimensional shape. This will create new tricky challenges that will test the skills of seasoned veterans as well as newbies.

Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey comes to PlayStation VR in 2021. For additional information on the title, check out the PlayStation website.
