Toronto-based meditation service Hoame is launching a virtual reality meditation subscription-based service on Meta Quest 2 this month.

Recently, the Hoame VR meditation has appeared on Quest Store’s ‘Coming Soon’ section. The app will be launching this month although the company hasn’t provided a definite launch date yet.

The company traditionally provides in-person meditation classes. With the VR app, users will be immersed in virtual environments containing recordings of instructors that provide guidance through the sessions.

A trailer displayed on the store page shows users customizing their usage environments and participating in the traditional classes and in sessions with music and focus on mental fitness as well as mindful escapes.

Hoame membership comes with daily studio classes and the sessions can even be saved to be revisited at some point in the future. The app will also include monthly workshops where users will be able to track their progress as their proceed with the meditation sessions.

Hoame hasn’t revealed the pricing for the VR meditation subscription yet but allows users a one-week free trial. The company has also not indicated whether the VR meditation app will be released on platforms other than Meta Quest (2).

The Quest platform is increasingly seeing growth in subscription-based apps and experiences. However, Hoame is the first meditation app providing a subscription service in VR. The Hoame experience looks almost similar to what you get with the fitness app Supernatural which also has a similar subscription model including daily meetings with experts pre-recording the workout. Meta bought Supernatural last year but reports have emerged that FTC is scrutinizing the acquisition in an antitrust probe.
