Beat Games co-founder Ján Ilavský says we will hopefully find out soon.

The official Twitter account of Beat Games, the studio behind Beat Saber, tweeted a teaser image of a block that is sliced into segments to create a curve.

When it was first tweeted, it wasn’t apparent whether it was some gameplay feature. However, Beat Saber’s lead level creator Freeek has since confirmed that teaser image was that of a completely new type of block that the community is now calling ‘Sliders’.

Beat Saber Introducing a New Block Type

This will be a new block type that might get avid Beat Saber players to carry out longer and more directed swipes than the current quick flicks where the player slices up the original blocks.

Freeek revealed that the new block type has been under development for quite some time now but it will not be in the old tracks. The new block type will, instead, be implemented in Beat Saber’s upcoming releases.

Beat Saber hasn’t announced any new tracks or DLCs lately but we can certainly expect lots of new content to drop in 2022. The last pack was the Lady Gaga Music Pack which is now over a month old and is quite popular with many Beat Saber fans.

The new block types represent the first-ever significant new feature to the core of the gameplay since Beat Saber’s early access a few years ago. However, there have been a number of updates and optional modifiers as well as a number of mods that can change how the game is played. A perfect example was FeetSaber.
