In February this year, EALoGames released a demo of Paranormal Hunter on Steam. The studio has now announced that the game is launching in Early Access in 2023 on PC VR.

The title was first announced in December 2021. It is a four-player co-op horror game. Its launch was first scheduled for Q2 2022 on consoles and PC as well as optional PC VR support. That launch has now been pushed back to 2023. The title’s Steam page states that after it launches, the title’s early access period will run for “roughly six months.”

Paranormal Hunter is like the other VR horror game, Phasmophobia, which also got a virtual reality overhaul update in April. Players will work as a team to hunt for supernatural spirits using a number of investigative tools. Every playthrough will feature differing elements. The studio behind the title, EALoGames, has stated confirmed in the past that the startup supports full PC cross-play between virtual reality and flat-screen players.

Paranormal Hunter is set to launch in early access next year on PC VR. The Steam demo is already available even though virtual reality support is currently limited to Quest 2 via Oculus Link. However, at launch, Paranormal Hunter will have cross-platform support for a number of VR devices including Valve Index, HTC Vive as well as Windows Mixed Reality platform.

The Paranormal Hunter flat-screen releases will be available for both PS4 and PS5. There is no confirmation on a PSVR and PSVR 2 version yet.
