Minecraft Is Ready For The Oculus Rift

The Minecraft announcement looked like an effort to promote the Windows 10 free upgrade that was available until July 29th. So that’s right, if you didn’t get your free upgrade like everyone else, you now have to pay $120 for the Windows 10.

Besides the Oculus Rift Support, Microsoft recently added support for the Samsung Gear VR that will be able to run the Minecraft Pocket Edition which is available for mobile devices. Microsoft is also developing a Minecraft with augmented reality for the HoloLens system.

Virtual Reality Makes Minecraft Much Better Than It Is

Playing Minecraft with virtual reality headsets seems like a very different experience than the original game. Especially how it feels. Since Minecraft is a game with depth, this counts as one of the first big games that will get official virtual reality support in such a massive scale. So it’s definitely a big step in the VR gaming field. We’re much closer to the future of augmented reality and virtual reality gaming experiences that we dream about.

You can build and create any you want, from humblest shelters to mightiest castles. Build and explore a world of your own with no limits other than those established by your imagination. Just make sure you have a safe place to spend the night to keep your character safe from the monster lurking in the dark. Survive this fantastic VR world by looking for materials and tools, you will also need weapons, food, and different items to survive. Minecraft is now bigger than Earth itself with millions of players around the world building astonishing environments. The best part is that you can now join from your PC thanks to the new Windows 10 Update, join already while it is in its development process and you might provide your own feedback to make the game even better than it is.

The idea of creating and exploring the enormous worlds in Minecraft by immersing ourselves with the Oculus Rift is definitely attractive, even if we’re not die-hard fans of Minecraft itself.  Even though the blocky worlds do not boast realism, it sure looks fun to take a ride in a crazily big roller coaster like the one in the video below while you are watching the 3D scenery surrounding you in a virtual reality environment.

What About The HoloLens Support For Minecraft?

However, we would also like to see the Minecraft with the HoloLens. What they showed in the E3 2015 demo was astounding, to say the least. Though it wasn’t the most realistic representation of what the game would really look like under normal settings with already developed technology. Just like the Pokémon Go trailer where you see a wild Charizard on the field, the Minecraft HoloLens demonstration was an inspirational one.

What Minecraft would you prefer? The Virtual Reality Experience or the Augmented Reality one? We choose both, it’s just not possible to decide.
