The Quest fitness app FitXR has expanded its roster of workouts today by adding two new DLC packs for its core activities.

The Absolute Dance and Absolute Box activities will launch later today with each costing $7.99. Both of the packs will bring an hour of content to their respective activities. With boxing, users will be punching notes to the beat. The new dancing mode will see you following a virtual instructor.

The Dance pack brings four new workouts focusing on conditioning, full-body exercise, cardio as well as aerobics. The Box pack includes four exercises focusing on the different parts of the body. Both of these activities are also powered by different types of music tracks.

FitXR DLC Coming Today

This represents the first DLC drop that FitXR has unveiled following the launch of its dance exercises in 2020. The app was previously known as Box VR but was later rebranded into FitXR on Quest last year. However, on PSVR and PC VR, it is still known as Box VR and there aren’t any signs of updates to these two tethered versions.

On Quest platform, however, FitXR has to grapple with competition from other fitness apps such as Supernatural and HoloFit.

HoloFit arrived at the beginning of this year and like Supernatural, it offers users subscriptions for personalized daily workouts.

VR’s use as an alternative workout solution has grown considerably following the pandemic and the resulting lockdown measures that have forced many people to stay at home. VR fitness is thus shaping into a promising opportunity for virtual reality content creators.
