The game provides probably the most realistic and immersive VR rendition of table tennis currently in existence for any virtual reality platform. In spite of its advantage’s, the title’s user interface and menu system have always been subpar and did not quite match the sublime and polished experience of the game. It now looks like the developer is completely improving and overhauling its menu system as can be seen in the photo below.
Eleven Table Tennis’ old UI was functional but it still looked and felt a bit outdated compared to the user interfaces of other virtual reality games. The game’s old UI wasn’t easily navigable for new people or those who were just getting started with virtual reality. The process of inviting people to matches, adding new friends or accepting challenge invites wasn’t simple and straightforward and was difficult to explain to new users. The UI update should now fix many of these challenges. The new UI looks much better aesthetically and the navigation also seems to have improved considerably which should make other parts of the game a lot easier to navigate to.
A tweet about the update seems to show that the new user interface will introduce a new system for automatic matchmaking for ranked games while at the same time keeping a similar functionality for unranked games.
