One of the highlights of the CES 2022 was the haptic vest by OWO Game that allows users to feel more than 30 different sensations while playing video games or in an immersive environment. The company says that the vest allows you to feel sensations such as wind, rain, hugs, and even gunshots that correspond to the stimuli from VR experiences. The user retains full control of the vest and the sensations via a designated app.

OWO is a Spanish company that began in 2019. The idea of the haptic vest was conceived by the company’s founder and CEO Jose Fuertes. The idea of developing the haptic vest was inspired by Fuertes’ previous venture known as WiemsPro which created a wireless full-body muscle electrostimulation (EMS) system.

In the development of the OWO Game haptic vest, Fuertes adapted his earlier fitness product used in gaming and in VR entertainment.

The OWO Game haptic vest supports all platforms including console, gaming, mobile, PC as well as VR platforms. The haptic vest has been developed from very fine Italian lycra and is therefore very comfortable and breathable and you can thus wear it in extended playing sessions.

OWO’s patented haptic system has been integrated into the vest very discretely and is also powered by a built-in battery. Users wearing the haptic vest can also customize the intensity of the many simulated sensations via a companion app.

The haptic vest’s companion app will also ‘remember’ calibration results so you won’t have to do the calibration every time you are using the vest which is convenient as the calibration takes approximately 5 minutes.

The company has categorized the sensations that the vest can perform into three: impact, interaction, and experience. These three categories encompass a vast array of sensations including shots, punches, fast driving, and much more.

The haptic vest was tested by the Spanish online newspaper El Español which concluded that the sensations have been well rendered.

The OWO Game haptic vest is currently available for pre-ordering. There are 10 different sizes to choose from.
