Positron Voyager’s immersive hardware is designed to improve the quality of immersion in cinematic experiences. The location-based VR entertainment venues (VRcades) are rebounding following the massive dip during the pandemic which wiped out the fortunes of this market segment in 2020 and 2021 as foot traffic to recreational centers virtually disappeared.
Following the pandemic, many film distribution companies pivoted their business model to providing cinematic content. Many labels, for instance, pulled planned releases from cinemas while others distributed their films via streaming platforms.
As restrictions on the pandemic-era lockdowns continue to ease up, we are seeing many cinema chains aggressively trying to bring back the audiences to cinemas. Positron’s technology that adds to the quality immersion is currently helping cinema chains bring audiences back to their seats with the technology attracting both new and old clientele.
Now Positron Voyager is developing a VR full-motion chair capable of simulating cinematic experiences via a number of extended reality functions and features. The VR full-motion chair also has other XR features such as haptic functionality, scent dispensers, 360-degree motion, and a VR headset.
The company always says it wants to begin creating internal virtual reality content along with turnkey immersive content packages designed for third-party clients.
Positron Voyager was present at the Cannes XR Film Festival which showcased virtual reality films and where its immersive cinematic solution was used in the lineup of award-winning movies shown at the festival.
Positron Voyager has also gone into partnership with the leading Hollywood giants including Universal, DreamWorks, and Universal where its immersive cinematic solution delivers experiences to audiences across the world. Apart from the U.S. market, the immersive hardware vendor also has a presence in Taiwan, France, and Australia.
