New Meta Quest Pro Update Adds Mixed Reality Capture
Following the new update, users will now be able to record and showcase their mixed reality moments when using XR applications that blend virtual reality with actual reality.
A new software update for Meta Quest Pro has been released which adds some new features that leverage the new capabilities of the headset such as “mixed reality capture”.
Meta Quest Pro’s v47 update is the first since the headset was launched in October.
The capture tools in Quest allow users to share some of the great moments that they have had inside the headset. In the recently launched Meta Quest Pro headset, these moments are often mixed reality experiences.
Before the update, users could only record in-game action with the real-world elements portrayed as a black background.
Users would need to press the button in-app to access the Quick Action Bar then navigate to the camera and press “Record Video” to begin capturing their immersive experiences.
The update also brings another feature, “Background Audio Playback” which has been widely requested by music lovers and multitaskers.
Users who love working in immersive environments with music on or who prefer to listen to some podcast can now do this with the Meta Quest Pro. The feature is available on the Experimental Features panel under their settings.
Meta also incorporated a number of feature updates for its whole Quest lineup. The Horizon Home that users first encounter when they strap on a Meta headset now allows users to easily change the appearance of their avatars. The Home also features a “virtual mirror” with which one can view the makeovers of other avatars in real time.
The Meta Quest mobile app has had a number of fresh updates. It now allows users to share their game wish lists with their family and friends, to promote holiday gift shopping.
