Half-Life 2: VR Mod Comes to PC VR in Q1 2023
Half-Life : Episode One is coming to PC VR this quarter as a free Steam mod.
Last September, Half-Life 2: VR Mod was launched with the Source VR Mod Team promising that it was also planning to support Episode One and Two in a roadmap. The Episode One is now set to launch in the first quarter of 2023.
The team confirmed that Episode One is to be released “later in Q1 2023.” According to the team, the episodes are to have separate Steam pages, like in the original episodes.
The team stated that at the moment, these pages are in still preparation and that they’ll issue an update once they become available. Check the trailer below for the short announcement.
Just like in the previous episodes, users will need to own Half-Life 2: Episode One to gain access to the mod.
Although every episode needs a separate build, Episode One will most likely keep the changes seen in Half-Life 2 such as adjustable vignettes, seated gameplay, and third-person vehicle camera.
The Source VR Mod team has been releasing several quality-of-life updates for the Half-Life2: VR Mod. These updates include bug fixes, movement changes when one is walking on foot, overhauled ladder climbing as well as weapon improvements. Also included is support for Steam Workshop and BHaptics TactSuit vests.
You can grab Half-Life 2: Episode One on Steam for $7.99. This also includes The Orange Box bundle that goes for $19.99 as well as the Half-Life 2 base game and Episode 2.
