No Man’s Sky Adds PSVR 2 Support
First announced as a launch window title, it is now confirmed that No Man’s Sky will be available for PlayStation VR2.
The No Man’s Sky update with PSVR 2 support was expected to arrive much later. Hello Games has now confirmed that the title will be available today as the PSVR 2 launches. This is the first major update of the game this year.
No Man’s Sky Fractal update, version 4.1, adds a host of new features to all versions of the game. The update will also add a bunch of VR-specific changes.
According to Hello Games, both the heads-up display (HUD) and the user interface have been completely remade for virtual reality in the update, thus ensuring that “every interaction available in the game feels natural and built for purpose.”
Among these are the new “VR-Only” options for various interactions including direct grabbing of plants and collectibles using your hands, the physical opening of cockpits as well as the direct piloting of spaceships using a throttle.
Specific to PSVR 2 is support for headset haptics as well as adaptive trigger integration in the Sense controllers. No Man’s Sky will also leverage the increased horsepower of the PS5 to give players better reflections, ultra-quality textures, terrain tessellation, denser foliage as well as an increase in the draw distance.
