Eve: Valkyrie Launches Free “Groundrush” Update
CCP announced it is now adding ground-level skirmishes to everyone’s favorite space simulator, EVE: Valkyrie. This will be the first time for the video game. The new map Solitude shows players fighting on a remote planet as fly through tight passageways. Fortunately, the new update is completely free, it is the fifth of a series of free updates to the game.
New Map, Enhanced Co-Op, and Ground Fights
The new patch will also add a wider variety to Valkyrie’s Weekly Wormhole events and cooperative mode to Carrier Assault and Control games. PC gamers are now also able to use their Steam Controllers to play.
“With every update, we try to push Eve: Valkyrie’s gameplay in new and exciting directions. As part of the Groundrush update, you will gain access to our stunning new map, Solitude. This is a radical departure from the battlefields of open space as the action is set against the backdrop of our first combat zone located on a planet’s surface. We’re excited to see how pilots adapt their techniques to capitalize on all the new hazards (and opportunities) that come with this new environment.”
The new map adds a whole new level of variety to online multiplayer dogfights. You can now feel the difference between the dark infinity of open space and bright planetary landscapes, adding variety to space battles.
The new free map delivers a fresh and interesting new look, it’s not revolutionary but it is quite fun nevertheless. All this new content makes everyone happy, especially PSVR owners who still have a limited game library.
The Groundrush update for Eve: Valkyrie will arrive next Tuesday for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR headsets.
