NullSpace VR’s Hardlight Suit is a Kickstarter Success

The Hardlight VR suit is a full haptic feedback jacket specially designed for virtual reality video games and applications. It allows wearers to have physical interactions with the virtual environment and all sorts of VR objects around them.

“From the very beginning of this project, we knew that game and developer integration was going to be one of the major cornerstones to the Hardlight Suit being successful,” said Founder and CEO Morgan Sinko. “We’re constantly signing new studios to integrate our technology into their games, so I’m happy to announce five more titles that will be fully Hardlight-ready when backers receive their suits in September.”

Some of the titles compatible with the Hardlight VR suit are VRZ: Torment, Snowball Fight VR, Cyberthreat, Primal Carnage: Onslaught, The Wake, and Sairento.

“One of the most exciting things about the genesis of the Hardlight Suit has been connecting with so many brilliant game developers and hearing how much fun they’re having adding haptics to their games,” said Founder and COO Lucian Copeland. “It was a goal of ours to launch with more game partnerships than any crowdfunded VR product before, and I’m very happy to report we met that goal.”

The Hardlight suit weighs only 3.5 pounds, so it’s fairly light. The weight is proportionally distributed across the suit, you might not notice it while wearing the jacket. The suit provides vibrotactile feedback, it uses a similar technology of that used on most cell phones. The team found that vibratory feedback was the most cost-effective of all that were tried during the developing process.
