Google Brings Inside Music for all Remix Fans
Google’s Inside Music lets users separate songs’ components, allowing them to turn any of them on and off. The projects started as a collaboration between Google, the popular podcast Song Exploder, and many of your favorite singers of different genres such as Clipping, Alarm Will Sound, Ibeyi, Natalia Lafourcade, Perfume Genius, and Phoenix.
This interactive experiment allows users to explore layers of music around them, with the help of spatial audio technology people can understand how music pieces are composed. Users can even turn layers off and on, allowing them to hear every individual piece of a song in interesting new ways.
The application was developed with WebVR technology, which allows developers built web applications that anyone can open with their web browser in VR, without having to install any extra software. You can try this Inside Music on a Virtual Reality headset, a phone or a laptop. The code has been made open-source for anyone willing to create music with this interactive experiment.
