The new Superhot VR update is available for free as of today and players can access it by completing the main campaign before the load the Endless floppy disk in the Hacker Room and then select Christmas Tree. The update also brings a new endless level, a new scoring system as well as a festive soundtrack. It will enable players to climb an exclusive leaderboard through punching, dodging, receiving headshots and to also score style shots to earn maximum points.
The patch for the PlayStation VR edition of Superhot VR will not only help with improving the overall experience of the game through life improvements and bug fixes but will also lead to improvements in performance and graphical enhancements. According to the studio, this holiday update is the “biggest bug-squashing” update since the launch of the game on PlayStation VR.
Apart from the improvements in the PlayStation version, the PC version of the game has also received a few tweaks and will have a new menu system, guest mode and accessibility settings. It will also get an improved game flow option. On the other hand, the Oculus Quest owners will be able to create new mini-tournaments that are based on the endless levels.
In spite of the impact of the pandemic on the general industry, this has been “a record year” for Superhot VR according to the studio’s Head of Business Alastair Hebson.
The game has grown over the years into one of the most popular first-person VR shooters and this has largely been due to its unique gameplay that occurs entirely in slow motion. When a player stays still, the time slows down and when they move, everything in the game also speeds up. Keep it here for more Superhot VR news and developments this year and in 2021.
