‘Beat Saber’ Studio Teases a New Gameplay Feature
Looks like Beat Saber will soon get a new gameplay feature that will add a new dynamic to the Virtual Reality game. Is it a new block type?
It has been quite some time since Beat Saber got some new game elements. Beat Games added 90- and 360-degree levels via an update in 2019. However, the basic game mechanics that entails chopping blocks have so far remained largely the same.
From new teasers shared on Twitter by the Czech studio, it seems that this could soon change. Beat Games teased the new gameplay feature on Twitter without revealing much.

Beat Saber’s lead level creator Freeek has also confirmed it is a new type of note pad that will only affect new levels and will not touch old maps. The player must allow the lightsaber to slide down some given path which then results in new movement patterns and in Beat Saber choreographies.
It’s a new type, not a conversion. Old maps will be untouched. It was thought about but ultimately this was the best decision. 🙂

On Twitter, Beat Games co-founder Ján Ilavský stated that he is enthusiastic about the stuff he is currently working on and hopes that he will soon reveal them soon so it wouldn’t take long before these new gameplay features are unveiled to Beat Saber fans.
I’m super excited about the stuff I work on right now. Hopefully you will be able to see it too quite soon 🙂

Beat Saber 2022: Something Big Coming Soon?
At the Connect 2021, Beat Games had teased new lightsabers along with a level system. It, therefore, seems like Beat Saber fans can look forward to plenty of new features and products in the game.
During the Meta’s XR conference, Beat Saber also revealed a new sales record: According to the studio, Beat Saber had grossed more than $100 million in sales on the Quest platform alone, including Quest and Quest 2. The Quest version of Beat Saber was released in May 2019 and arrived at the same time as the mobile VR console game.
There is been a lot of hype about the benefits of Beat Saber as a VR fitness experience and Meta wants to introduce a new accessory pack into the market this year. This pack includes adhesive straps for the Touch controller in case of sweaty hands along with a new face pad from which the sweat can be more easily wiped off.
