Turtle Beach to Offer a Compact VR Charging Dock
Gaming headphone and accessories manufacturer, Turtle Beach, will soon offer its own Quest 2 charging dock, thereby plunging the company into the VR accessories market. Preorders for the charging dock have already been opened.
A number of companies are already manufacturing Meta Quest 2 charging docks that allow users to have their headsets and controllers charged and ready for action. For instance, there is the $100 Anker dock that Meta sells officially. There are also a number of options sold on Amazon and which cost about $55. Many of these other third-party options are from Chinese manufacturers.
The Meta Quest 2 controllers utilize AA batteries. As a result, all the charging dock options feature custom rechargeable batteries that have built-in wireless charging. The headset also has a tiny USB-C adapter with wireless charging.
The charging dock by Turtle Beach, which is already available for pre-orders, retails at $80. The charging dock is known as Fuel Compact VR Charging Station for Meta Quest 2.
It looks like the most compact of the Quest charging docks. The controllers are slotted behind the visor of the headset, like the charging dock that is included with the Meta Quest Pro headset.
The charging dock is suited for standalone headsets, especially if you can spare some space on your desk. The charging dock allows you to easily immerse yourself into virtual reality whenever you want without worrying about your Quest 2 headset or controllers lacking sufficient charge for the experience.
Preorders for the Quest 2 charging dock are already available in a number of countries including the UK, Canada, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. It will ship on November 21.
