View Your Event Seat In VR With Rukkus Seat360
When you are about to watch big events such as sporting events, the first thing that comes to mind is to secure your seats as quickly as possible. But another thing which goes with it is to know which seats provide the perfect view. One company is taking the power of virtual reality to let eventgoers have a view of their seats – even before they choose to buy them.
Rukkus, one of the leading event ticket retailers in the U.S., has launched Seat360, a feature within their official mobile app which adds a panoramic 360-degree view option, so you can select an available ticket and see what the views from your exact seat are.
Spencer Stein, Rukkus’ Head of Marketing and Content, said that “Seat360 offers fans the ability to view their potential seats in a full panoramic 360 Virtual Reality experience. By being able to really understand what the view from their seat looks like in such a functional manner, they have a greater ability to discern what the true value is and thus what amount of money they are willing to pay for their event.”
He added that the Seat360 feature covers almost every NBA & NHL arenas (all playoff teams) as well as 11 different MLB venues such as Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, AT&T Park and more. In addition, Rukkus also have a select amount of concert venues, with the famed Hollywood Bowl in LA currently live in the official Rukkus mobile app. The company is also working on having all MLB stadiums by the All Star break, and NFL Stadiums in time for the new season. Additionally, theater and more concert venues are also a priority going forward.
The Seat360 feature is live within the current iOS app and works on all iOS devices. Taking advantage of virtual reality, the feature is compatible with all Google Cardboard as well as any headsets that use a similar VR configuration. The company is also working on the Android version of the app, which is expected to be compatible with any Android VR viewer.
