AVIAR Ground Operations Training

AVIAR provides a training platform and solution in various areas of aviation training. The demo it has recently unveiled showcases grounds operation training.

A one-minute trailer it released recently gives us a brief glimpse into its various setup procedures as well as safety checks that the platform includes and it breaks these down to a very granular level of detail.

The platform showcases the layout of a craft, the various components of the aircraft as well as how users can interact with these specific tools. The user can even drive vehicles and tow the plane.

AVIAR says that its training solution is faster and cheaper than the conventional physical location and real-world equipment for aviation training. According to AVIAR CEO Grigory Ridionov, the company has been developing this platform for the past few years. Like other players in the VR scene, its technology found increased relevance when COVID-19 struck along with the subsequent isolation and lockdown measures instituted to contain the pandemic.

The most complete training aspect of the AVIAR platform is its ground operations training. However, Rodionov has stated that the company will release its first cabin training modules in the first quarter of 2021 while pilot and security training is set to be unveiled towards the end of 2021.

AVIAR is also planning to take its work and use it to make a game. It hasn’t revealed any details on this yet but we can expect to hear more details next year.

The platform has already been implemented with various airlines such as NordStar and Lufthansa.

AVIAR’s solution is a perfect test-case on how virtual reality can be implemented in training programs, particularly in light of the still raging pandemic.
