Hitman 3 comes to the consoles and PC on January 20th but VR support will only be available to the version of the game on the PS4/PS5 platforms.

To ramp up the hype, the developer IO Interactive released another trailer last week of the upcoming first-person PlayStation VR mode.

The game will have a huge amount of interactable items and weapons as well as first-person gun wielding and hand-to-hand combat but Hitman 3 will only support gamepads. This is a handicap that players will have to contend with and it may also hamper the depth of immersion. To aim and interact with the objects, players must use a DualShock 4 controller rather than a PS Move or DualSense.

In spite of that, Hitman 3 still allows you to play the full trilogy in Virtual Reality. It also features sandbox missions if you are looking for some standalone fun.

When the game launches in exactly a fortnight, it will be interesting to see whether its gameplay will translate well enough to give users the feel of a proper virtual reality game that players can enjoy playing all the way through. The last thing avid VR fans would want to see in the much-anticipated title is a glorified VR mode.

You can watch the new trailer below. Because it is restricted, you can only watch it on YouTube.
