Virtual Apartment Hunting
In the current real estate market, looking for your perfect dream house can be both wearing and frustrating. The good news is that with the upcoming virtual technology, the problems people come across during house hunting might get solved.

Dealers are hopeful that the virtual reality headset Oculus Rift is the answer to their and their customers’ troubles. According to New York Daily News, it is possible for interested buyers to check and explore the houses with the virtual reality headset before their construction is complete.

The program, which is currently under development, is being designed by Cory Haber, the president of Rubicon Media. Haber acknowledged that their plan to create an absolute immersion that will trick people into thinking as if they are somewhere else. The buyers just have to strap on the headset and they will be transported into the apartment. By using a video game controller, they can explore the house, poke around, open doors, observe the views from the windows and look in every nook and crannies of the place as they please.

Cory Haber revealed that they have already sealed the deal with some of the top brokers of the city including ‘Million Dollar Listing New York’ star Ryan Serhant and Urban Compass President Leonard Steinberg for the marketing of apartments with the aid of Oculus Rift. On virtual apartment hunting, Ryan Serhant told the New York Daily News, ‘This is like The Matrix! All of a sudden, you’re zapped into the apartment. People don’t know what to say because the have never seen anything like it.’

Haber said that his program is great for luxury condos because it is difficult to picture the whole unit with only floor plans and plastered walls. Rubicon Media is currently finalizing the project and hiring new team members. The word is that the program has become news in Miami and even in Dubai. The developers believe that the technology will soon be common in every condo sales office in the city. We can safely assume that in the next few years, buyers will be able to tour the apartments that don’t even yet exist right from the comfort of their own homes through the use of Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
