The Black Glove Kickstarter Gets Official Endorsement
The Black Glove, a surreal and creepy virtual game with a first person perspective developed by Day for Night Games, is struggling to keep up on Kickstarter. With only 3 days left to go, the project is far behind its goal of $550,000. Till now only $174,364 has been pledged and the clock is ticking.
According to the rules of Kickstarter, the project will only be funded if it does manage to achieve required amount. The Black Glove is developed by the same team who helped to design BioShock Infinite and BioShock. If their project gets going, it will support both Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus. Many supporters of the game have turned up to back up the project so there is still some hope. Moreover, Ken Levine, the creator of BioShock and former Irrational Games boss, voiced his support and officially endorsed The Black Glove Kickstarter to help them out. In order to pick up the speed, Day for Night is now offering lifetime membership in the studio with several perks to all the backers of the game.
Let’s talk a bit about the game which has a simple but catchy slogan, ‘The answer must lie in the past..’. The Black Glove is a criminal organization seemingly operated by Doctor Simon Hurt. The organization consists of filthy rich people who are corrupt and vicious. They meet once a year to gamble on a life and death of a third party person for their gain. The wicked cult was most active in the city of Gotham after the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne (yes, Batman’s parents). They used them as a human sacrifice to summon the bat-god known as Barbatos. They return after many years and become active to target Batman. He asked his partners to make a bet on whether Batman will be able to bear his shameful downfall.
To be honest, the trailers and overall concept of The Black Glove look incredible and eerily thrilling. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wish The Black Glove the best of luck.
