New Horror Video Game Coming for the PSVR
British video game developer Firesprite is currently working on a horror title for the PlayStation VR system and its multiplayer approach looks scary as hell.
The Persistence is PlayStation VR’s Horror Title
The video game is simple but quite interesting. The player will get onboard The Persistence, a research spaceship that’s currently studying a collapsing star. But after a sudden failure, the ship attempts to revive the dead crew members and something goes wrong in the process, turning them into aggressive mutants.
“Playing as a crewmember awoken from cryosleep, you’ll navigate the doomed ship, try to get the engines back online, and escape the ravenous clutches of the nearby black hole.
The ship itself is procedurally generated, so each time you die, you’ll awaken as a new character facing a new ship layout, different threats, and new opportunities. And die you will — death is an integral part of the gameplay loop.”
One of the most interesting features of the video game is that it will come with a mobile companion application that will enable your friends to see the map and help you, or maybe make things more difficult for you.
Something curious about The Persistence is that every time you die you will respawn as a completely different person in another part of the ship with a different layout, dangers, and opportunities. The good thing is that you will find stem cells that can enhance your characters, even after dying and respawning many times.
The Persistence doesn’t have yet a release date but it looks promising. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out more about this PlayStation VR exclusive.
