Sony Has Two New PlayStation Bundles for May 2019
Sony has just announced that two new PlayStation bundles will be hitting the shelves this month. The bundles will feature some of the hottest VR titles on PlayStation so if you have been waiting for some attractive PSVR bundle offers, your prayers have just been answered!
The bundles are already available for pre-order and both of them will include two new games, a PlayStation Camera, a PSVR headset as well as the latest PSVR demo disc.
Pre-orders are already open for the brand new bundles that also include one of the most promising VR games on PSVR: the first-person-shooter (FPS) game Blood and Truth. Following its launch a few years back, PSVR has offered users lots of reductions and attractive deals on its bundles which often include the essential PS4 bundled into the package. PSVR is a tethered headset and won’t work without the PS4. This is one of the key factors that has driven up the sales of both PS4 and PSVR.
Going on sale today will be new two bundles. There will be the all-in Blood and Truth bundle which includes a PSVR, two PlayStation Move controllers, a PlayStation camera, a disc version of Blood and Truth and a digital version of Everybody’s Golf VR. This bundle will be going for $349 and will be launched in US and Canada on May 28.
The second bundle which is priced at $299 is more pared down and will be launched on May 31 following the release of the first bundle. You will get the PlayStation VR headset along with the PlayStation Camera. There will be no discounted motion controllers. The second bundle will also feature digital copies of Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted as well as Trover Saves the Universe. Trover Saves the Universe was developed by Justin Roiland who is also the co-creator of Rick and Morty. His signature style often includes absurdist humor which will be in full display in the game where the titular Trover will be on a mission to save the player’s dognapped dogs.
The other title in the second bundle, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted, is an indie horror franchise that will be making its debut in virtual reality. The bundles will include a collection of minigames some of which are classics from older games in the series along with some great originals.
While the prices are fairly affordable, these are still not the cheapest bundles for an entry level PSVR user. If you are the budget conscious buyer, you might want to hold off until November for some of the most attractive deals.
It’s still not clear whether Sony has more surprises with PlayStation VR. However, Sony has also indicated that its current PSVR will be fully compatible with the next-generation PlayStation (PS5?) so the new gaming console won’t automatically render your current purchase redundant.
If you can’t wait any longer and wants to hit the ground-running, then you can go for the pricier Blood and Truth bundle with the Move controllers. Both bundles are already available for pre-order on Best Buy, Amazon and Walmart.
If you don’t fancy the games that have been included in the bundle, you can also pick from many other options. Check out PlayStation VR deals for older but cheaper options.
