The annual Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is happening next week and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia (SIEJA) will feature prominently during the event where it will be showcasing its upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR. The Japanese game studio LL Project Production Committee (Amata K.K.) has announced that will be also showcasing its demo version of the virtual reality Escape-the-Room title Last Labyrinth during the events at the PlayStation Booth.

PlayStation VR was first showcased during the PlayStation Matsuri TOKYO 2019 in July so this will be the second and probably the last demo of the title before the launch. It has been created as a special demo version of the title. The title expected to hit the streets by the end of this year. Just like in the previous demo during the PlayStation Matsuri, visitors to the Last Labyrinth demo at the TGS 2019 must book first by pre-registering on the PlayStation official website. This will only be applicable for the PlayStation Plus members.

The Last Labyrinth was first revealed during the Tokyo Games Show of 2016 (TGS 2016) so the project comes full circle with the demo at the TGS 2019 before the final launch. Early this year, the game developer Amata K.K. completed its Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign. The studio had initially planned to launch the title during Spring 2019 but it delayed it to summer and then finally rescheduled the launch to Fall 2019. The launch will cover various headsets including PlayStation VR as well as a version for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and the Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

In the Last Labyrinth single-player experience, the player is immersed into a creepy mansion where they have no idea on what is going on around them. The player is chained to a wheelchair and they are unable to escape from the room. They are only able to move using their hands and heads. The player is also trapped in the same space with a girl, Katia, who can only communicate with them through a non-discernible language. The player will have to guide Katia in solving puzzles by pressing at a button in their hands to activate a laser pointer on their head. Real communication between the player and Katia is only realized entirely via nods and shakes of the head.

Apart from the Last Labyrinth, the TGS 2019 has also lined up a host of other titles to be showcased during the event including Throw Anything (Visual Light), Marvel’s Iron Man VR, Stumper (Thirteenth Floor Corporation), Concrete Genie, Hatsune Miku VR (Degica Games) and Deemo Reborn (Unties).

The TGS 2019 will run from 12th to 15th September. The first two days will cater to business attendees while the last two will be open to the public.
