National Geographic’s virtual reality exploration app “Explore VR” is getting a Machu Picchu update.

The Explore VR app was released during the launch of Oculus Quest in May this year. The app takes Quest users on a virtual trip through the Antarctica. As the user searches for penguins, they will kayak, paddle, climb an iceberg and even survive a terrifying blizzard.

Oculus and National Geographic have now announced the first ExploreVR update. After the Antarctica exploration, the app will take users on a tour of the 15th century city Machu Picchu which is situated in the Peruvian Andes which was founded by the Inca and then later abandoned.  The experience will digitally reconstruct the city and viewers will even be able to virtually attend a mummy ceremony and visit the houses in the city.

The Machu Picchu update on ExploreVR should appear “soon” according to Oculus. The update will be free for those who already own the app. Others can download it from the Oculus Store for $10.
