Co-Op Shooter ‘After the Fall’ Now Postponed to 2021
The Dutch studio Vertigo Games has postponed the co-op shooter After the Fall to 2021, citing the pandemic situation as the cause of the delay.
Vertigo Games, behind some of the VR hits such as Arizona Sunshine (2016) and Skyworld, announced last week that its long-awaited co-op shooter After the Fall for PSVR and PC is not coming this year after all and will be delayed until early next year.
After the Fall was first unveiled at the E3 in 2019 and offers a zombie-shooting four-player co-op action that takes place in a frozen wasteland. The game was initially expected to arrive some time this year which at this point in time, should have been around the holiday season.
Vertigo Games has now revealed that the 2020 launch date won’t suffice as a result of the “COVID-19 outbreak and everything going on in the world.”

In a statement it tweeted out last week, the studio announced that it had made the difficult decision to postpone the launch of the After the Fall to early 2021 to give its development team sufficient time to deliver an experience that would meet its vision.
The studio stated that it wanted After the Fall to be “the best and most gripping co-op VR FPS experience possible” but the launch timeline had been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak and other things “going on in the world” and was facing challenges that need additional time to safely develop After the Fall to meet its high standards.
To deliver the best four-player co-op experience, the studio will now utilize the additional time to “get everything just right”.
In its unveiling at the E 2019, reviewers cited its lack of clear sense of immersion as well as its overly arcade-y controls which made the game appear more like a point-and-click experience than a seamless shooting experience. Hopefully, with the amount of time that has since elapsed, the studio will have fine-tuned the experience to make the game more fun and immersive for Virtual Reality players.https://virtualrealitytimes.com/2020/11/08/co-op-shooter-after-the-fall-now-postponed-to-2021/https://virtualrealitytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/After-the-Fall-600x364.jpghttps://virtualrealitytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/After-the-Fall-150x90.jpgFPS - First Person ShooterGamingTechnologyThe Dutch studio Vertigo Games has postponed the co-op shooter After the Fall to 2021, citing the pandemic situation as the cause of the delay.
