Spacefolk City: This VR Games Lets You Build Space Cities
Building games are still not popular in virtual reality realms but there is a new sensation in Spacefolk City, an accessible VR game that puts you in a great mood and provides you with lots of space for creativity.
Virtual reality offers plenty of opportunities for fun and adventure along with lots of delightful experiences. There are lots of new indie games launching now and then with lots of potential. The newest is the colorful space building game Spacefolk City, whose developer, Moon Mode, has been teasing for the past few months and it brings a fun and amusing twist to the popular building genre. Spacefolk City challenges you to think on how you can expand a floating space city while at the same trying to catch the asteroids that whizz past you.
In this game, the space folks are in apparent danger with the sun of the cute little space creatures about to explode in a supernova. Eruptions have destroyed their settlements and it is now up to you to build a new city, take the stranded space folks with you and catapult them into another safe solar system using technological means.
This virtual reality game seamlessly leverages the strengths of the medium and allows you to build cities around you in space instead of on the surface. First, you will provide an energy source and then build house by house. You will be developing buildings and apartments that increase the efficiency and endurance of the space folks and promote their special skills.
Your building resources will be the space junk that flies by which you will grab with your hands from the immediate vicinity and tear apart. The buildings are erected by space folks in whose tiny hands you will be pushing the cut scrap.
Different Species of Space Folks
You will encounter different species of Space Folks each of whom will have their own strengths and preferences. There are pizza space folks that look like walking pizzas and who love everything pizza-related.
There are the earthworm space folks who do happy gardening. There are the rabbit space folks who do magic tricks. By decorating buildings using the appropriate items, you will move the space creatures to the appropriate buildings.
The goal is to make the space folks happy and they are at their happiest when they have a home to sleep in, can visit facilities that promote their speed, skills and perseverance and when they are surrounded by the objects that they love or when they have birthday parties.
The happier your Spacefolk City citizens are, the harder they will work. Objects and buildings are also unlocked through a happiness barometer and you can even take in more space folks.
Creative Urban Planning
Spacefolk City provides eight increasingly difficult challenges that prepare virtual reality players for Freestyle mode.
There is so much that you can do here including building up, down or in the depths of the room without grappling with any artificial restrictions. You can immerse yourself in this and creatively let out of steam for as long as you want. This VR game offers infinite possibilities for creative fun.
You can even move your hands through the virtual space with relative ease if you like playing while seated. To accomplish this, you have to reach into the world and draw it into yourself. The rotations are triggered via the rotational movement of the hands.
Spacefolk City is Designed to Make You Happy
The game features impressive hand control that feels both intuitive and natural. You will actually feel like you have played this building game before. You will be getting up close and personal with your own citizens by picking them up with your own hands and handing objects to them.
Spacefolk City’s soundtrack is also insanely good as it has gathered more than 20 funky songs which are reminiscent of the electro-pop from the late 1970s and early 1980s. You will find yourself unconsciously rocking along.
Spacefolk City features a combination of groovy music with a satisfying construction strategy along with some happily scurrying around. This is a virtual reality game that is guaranteed to make you happy.
