Most of the conventional NFTs consist of image-based and static assets. Mojo Melee is set to be the first Web3 game that will feature actual 3D models along with animations as digital collectibles making it possible for users to fully express themselves in a unique way.

Transforming NFTs into real-time 3D models could also be crucial in surmounting the objections gamers and game developers have regarding NFT ownership. The first NFTs were PFPs and 2D images with limited utility. They couldn’t, for instance, be usefully imported into the gaming environment. Mystic Moose’s announcement now makes it possible to exploit new forms of utility in NFTs.

Mystic Moose says its new feature will enable gamers to modify and transform their owned digital collections on the blockchain with different looks and creative options. According to the company, the conversion of NFTs into 3D models is the next evolution in gaming NFTs since the majority of games are made in 3D and it only makes sense for digital collectibles to be in 3D.

The first phase of Mystic Moose’s 3D collectibles was unveiled on March 16, 2023, and came after the studio’s successful Champion Chest mint on Magic Eden that happened two weeks earlier.

The chests feature four new Planet Mojo Champions, containing real-time 3D models and animation.

Players can zoom or rotate the files to get see them from every angle in NFT marketplaces like OpenSea. Ownership of Champions also will also unlock them for immediate play in Mojo Melee as well as all upcoming games from Planet Mojo. All the current Champion NFTs will also be converted into 3D in the coming months.

The studio says its modable 3D Mojo NFTs will unlock “a new era of user-generated content” and give players “a lot of power” with access to the 3D assets of their NFTs.

Players can customize the 3D modable Mojos with new items and collectibles to generate an entirely player-owned unique look.

There are wide-ranging clothing items for accessorizing each Mojo including shirts, hats, glasses, costumes, and much more. The clothing appears on the Mojos during gameplay in Mojo Melee, fights as well as in champions. Mystic Moose is also planning to go into brand and IP partnerships.
