With the new funds, the company now moves into the next phase of the development. The new fundraising was both in equity capital as well as in innovation funds. The company builds a real-car-as-a-simulator technology and now plans to boost its international profile and grow its wings beyond its Austrian base. Participating in this investment round was the company’s key partner and railway engineering company Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group.

Launched in 2014 by Alexis Kopciak, Patrick Kolar, Lukas Stranger and Martin Wagner, NXRT caters to a diverse range of clients in the railway and automotive sectors.

The mixed reality accompany accomplishes this through a sophisticated software solution known as RT Editor Suite that supports the efficient and straightforward simulation of various driving scenarios.

It also has the MISHBIL MR that leverages artificial intelligence to generate very interactive and realistic mixed reality simulations, thereby melding virtual reality with the real-world environment.

NXRT’s technology can be deployed cheaply in building what would have otherwise been costly simulator cockpit replicas. It can also be used to transform actual vehicles into simulators by using proprietary vehicle-mounted sensor components.

The mixed reality company has developed its expertise in this area by coming up with the first VR driving simulators in Europe and now aims to realize a low simulation sickness rate, an interactive environment as well as a high user satisfaction rate. According to NXRT’s CTO Alexis Kopciak, these represent the “most important and most underestimated hygiene factors in the industry.” Kopciak says the company’s mixed reality products focus on the compatibility as well as high user-friendliness.

The mixed reality company believes its technology will be instrumental in ensuring simulation and virtual reality is “more accessible to the public”.

According to the company’s co-executive Lukas Stranger, the rapid advances in the automation of vehicles and industries will require new solutions not just during the development process but also to help users ready themselves for the latest technologies as well as advancements. The company is therefore intent on “revisiting” the use of simulation and virtual reality and aims to make these technologies more accessible to the public. Stranger stated that NXRT aims to make these technologies “understandable, accessible and useful.”

NXRT also builds solution for use in aviation and traffic safety. The company says it is open to further cooperation partnerships.
