March VR Games Showcase Reveals Forefront, Postal 2 VR and New Flat2VR Projects

The Spring VR Games Showcase has delivered another reminder that the medium’s software pipeline is more varied than any single headset’s storefront suggests. The March 11 presentation featured a new project from the creators of Breachers, multiple adaptations from Flat2VR Studios, fresh footage from anticipated releases and a surprise launch.
Among the announcements were Forefront from Triangle Factory, cooperative dungeon crawler Reave, new VR projects based on Postal 2, Out of Sight and Surviving Mars, and a fresh look at the previously announced Roboquest VR. The lineup stretched across Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2 and PC VR rather than committing to one device family.
For players, the central attraction is the number of games on the horizon. For the industry, the show demonstrates two complementary directions: studios designing experiences explicitly around VR interactions, and teams adapting existing games into the medium.
Breachers developer unveils Forefront
Triangle Factory, known for the multiplayer shooter Breachers, used the presentation to announce Forefront. The reveal gives the developer an opportunity to apply its experience with virtual-reality multiplayer combat to a new project.
Shooter design is demanding in VR because precision, comfort and team communication are all visible to the player. Weapons must feel satisfying to handle, movement has to work across different comfort preferences, and network performance can make the difference between a tense firefight and a frustrating one.
The studio’s involvement will naturally attract attention from players familiar with Breachers, but a reveal is not the same as a release. Features, balancing and long-term player support still need to be demonstrated through hands-on gameplay. It is worth treating announced ambitions separately from established performance.
The showcase also introduced Reave from Alta, adding a cooperative fantasy dungeon-crawling premise to a program otherwise rich in shooting and action titles.
Flat2VR moves further into established franchises
Flat2VR Studios emerged as one of the show’s busiest participants. Its announcements included Postal 2 VR, a VR adaptation of Out of Sight and Surviving Mars: Pioneer, developed with partners including Paradox and Bolverk. It also showed a new trailer for the roguelite shooter Roboquest VR, first announced in 2024, now targeting a fall 2025 release.
Those projects have little in common stylistically. Postal 2 is a provocative action franchise; Roboquest emphasizes fast-paced combat; Out of Sight takes a different perspective on immersive storytelling; and Surviving Mars invites players into a science-fiction setting associated with building and survival.
That variety is part of the appeal. Adapting a conventional game into VR does not require the industry to invent a completely unfamiliar setting every time. Existing properties can provide proven characters and worlds while developers focus on the harder problem of making interactions work at human scale.
The danger is that a conversion can feel like a flat-screen game with the camera moved into a headset. Motion, controls, readable interfaces and believable physical interaction need deliberate work. The VR versions announced today will ultimately be judged on those details, not merely on the popularity of their original names.
New games and dates across platforms
The showcase offered news beyond those headline projects. Fireproof Games showed gameplay from Ghost Town, its new supernatural adventure. The presentation also included fresh footage of Hitman World of Assassination for PS VR2 and confirmed that Underdogs is arriving digitally on Sony’s headset on March 28, with a physical release planned for April 4.
Players also saw material from Gorn 2, Exoshock and cooperative roguelite Zix. A PC VR edition of Vendetta Forever was revealed alongside additional levels, while the Quest version of physical-action title Deep Cuts received a surprise launch.
Surprise releases can create immediate enthusiasm, but they also benefit from careful distinction in coverage: a game that is available today is a different proposition from a project shown in a short trailer with no confirmed date.
Why these showcases remain important
Virtual reality’s software market is divided across several ecosystems. A standalone Quest owner may not see the same promotions as a PlayStation user or a PC VR enthusiast. Games can also be released at different times on different systems, with meaningful changes in performance or features.
A cross-platform event gives developers a way to speak directly to a larger audience. It also reduces dependence on the discovery algorithms of individual storefronts, where unfamiliar games can easily be buried beneath a few established hits.
For smaller studios, simply being noticed can be a major commercial hurdle. A credible showcase offers footage, release information and a reason for communities to start following a title before it appears for purchase.
The event cannot prove that every announced project will ship on time or meet expectations. What it does establish is that VR development is taking multiple forms at once: original worlds, experimental interactions, premium action games and increasingly ambitious adaptations.
The next question is execution. March’s reveals have supplied plenty of names for watchlists; the coming months will show which projects can turn attractive trailers into experiences people return to.
