Duck Season VR Comes Out Next Week
In case you don’t remember much from the 80’s, Duck Hunt was a very exciting shooting game where you had to shoot ducks with a gun controller on a 2D screen.
Duck Season debuts in VR with a bit of Nostalgia and Horror
Stress Level Zero, the developer of the popular multiplayer shooter Hover Junkers, now created this first-person adventure game based on the classic game from the 90’s, Duck Hunt. If we had to categorize this game it would be a challenge, one would expect it to be a traditional shooter, but instead, its nostalgic narrative and the horror elements in it make Duck Season look like something far richer in content than what we saw in 1984.
You would think it’s obvious, but the company could have gone with a simpler approach by remaking this game in 3D and having it compatible with VR headsets. But no, we will all see soon what’s Duck Season really about, and from the looks of it, it might give us a nice surprise. The game is set to release on the Oculus Store and Steam on September 14th, we are barely days away from the launch.
Duck Season is much more than a remake of Duck Hunt, it’s a celebration of 80’s culture mixed with horror. Right in the line between fun and creepy. You start the game as a kid who finds himself shooting ducks in a rented video game while your loyal dog collects the falling birds, but things get strange when you find out that the dog isn’t what you think it is, and a deeper and creepier story begins. The game is said to have seven unique endings and multiple subplots, this is a VR game you definitely got to try.
