Budget Cuts is the future of VR sneaking and killing video games. In this game, you have to take quick action when a robot spots you and then change into kill position holding any weapon you can find to stab the robot in close combat or from a safe distance. Budget Cuts has a level of rush and adrenaline you won’t easily find in other video games.
The complete version of Budget Cuts is estimated to last around eight hours depending on how you play, the game will come out on May 16th for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift and it will cost you around $30.
Budget Cuts features a smooth teleportation system that never breaks the immersion for you because it shows you a preview of your location before actually teleporting there. The game has you fighting robots, throwing sharp objects to disable them or throwing blunt objects to slow the robots temporarily. You can also sneak around and find your way through dangerous enemies to win the game.
The finished version of Budget Cuts features enemies, environments, and puzzles that haven’t been seen before in the demo. In the game, everything you want to interact with inside the Budget Cuts environment should work. You can interact with anything from objects in drawers, cabinet doors and even trash on the ground that you can sweep with a virtual broom.
Neat Corporation doesn’t say much about what kind of surprises or challenges are waiting for you in the rest of the game after the demo finishes, but we can be sure it will be great fun and quite immerse from what we have seen.
