Swords of Gargantua Launches a VR Swordfighting Game
There is a new heavy and eclectic virtual reality swordfighting game that you can lay your hands on. Swords of Gargantua has this week unveiled a VR swordfighting game for a host of devices including Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Oculus Quest and the Windows Mixed Reality platform.
The swordfighting game was created by the Japanese virtual reality game planning, management and development services company Yomuneco and published by gumi. It renders in VR the feeling of engaging in an actual swordfight where you take on the feared Gargantua monsters. It is the perfect game to put your swordsman skills into good use and goes beyond just parrying at obvious swings. The game really tests you to the limit through its realistic gameplay. In this game, you will have to actually get more physical with big swings in order to have a shot against your foes, particularly the bigger ones.
You will go through the gameplay swinging vigorously and aiming accurately to strike down the mighty Gargantuas.
Using any of the above-mentioned VR headsets, you can play the swordfight either in the single-player level where you will be up against the Gargantua minions. Once you open the game, you will beam into the arena for the swordfight, select your sword, pick a shield and then get started on the parrying action. Once you have picked up the shield, your virtual foes will be coming at you quite vigorously and you will need to counter just as vigorously.
It is easier to take down the Gargantua’s minions with one good shot but the action will get trickier once you begin parrying with bigger and more ferocious beasts where you will need to land multiple strikes to take them down.
The game also has a multiplayer version where you can go head-to-head with other players in a quest. The Swords of Gargantua’s VR swordfight game is cross-buy enabled so if you are using an Oculus headset, you will be able to play with other players with Oculus headsets, irrespective of whether they are using the Oculus Rift or Quest headsets.
In the multiplayer version of the game, you can take on other friends cross-platform in a four-play co-op. This also comes with support for a native voice chat and even the option to revive the downed friendlies.
The game includes some 50 single-player missions along with 30 weapons that you can unlock. There is also the multiplayer mode. As you progress in the gameplay, the challenge gets stiffer as you take on bigger foes.
