Feel the Wind in your Hair with 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' on Oculus Rift
Produced by DreamWorks Animation, How to Train Your Dragon 2 is about Hiccup and Toothless who discover an ice cave full of dragons and a mysterious dragon rider. The American 3D computer-animated action fantasy film is the second movie in the trilogy – a sequel to 2010 film How to Train Your Dragon.

The trilogy is based on fantasy book written by Cressida Cowell. Featuring a heartwarming fusion of a quirky plot, funny lines and endearing characters, it is not surprising that the movies have received highly positive reviews from the critics and a great fan following. In the second film, Hiccup and Toothless fight along with the dragons to save their world and in order to keep peace. Whether it is an adult or a school going kid, the movie is thoroughly enjoyable.

To promote the movie, DreamWorks Animation is now offering a great virtual reality experience at New York Comic Con 2014. At the event, you will have a chance to experience a sensation of flying on the back of a dragon! By assembling high end virtual reality technology of the Oculus Rift and real time augmentations, the studio has come up with a rather unique and wonderful immersive experience. By strapping on the Oculus Rift VR headset, you will become the film’s central character; a young Viking named Hiccup and will be able to ride the dragon called Toothless.

In the demo, it is shown that as Hiccup, you will fly over the surface of the sea nearby the Isle of Berk on the back of your dragon, Toothless. During the experience, you will come across other striking dragons, impressive natural stone structures and the deep blue sea. The demo is only a minute and a half long. It does not have the thrilling somersaults we would have loved to do but nevertheless, it is bound to be an exciting ride. Unfortunately for the fans, the VR demo of How to Train Your Dragon 2 will not be released to the public. However, DreamWorks is working on another immersive experience so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
