Dark Deception Returns To Kickstarter For Oculus Rift
Remember Glowstick Games’ Dark Deception? It created a lot of hype last year in the virtual reality world. Unfortunately, Dark Deception was not successful in its Kickstarter campaign and the project was cancelled. But guess what? The virtual game is making a comeback! Once again it has started a campaign on Kickstarter with a lower goal and more than one platform! Our fingers are crossed and we hope Dark Deception makes it this time, because the trailer looks spine chillingly awesome!
Glowstick Game has announced that the game will be released for several platforms including PlayStation 4 (Project Morpheus), PC with Oculus Rift and Wii U. Last year, Glowstick Games pledged for $50,000. The project was failing to achieve the targeted goal and their Kickstarter campaign had to be dropped. However, this year the studio is pledging for strikingly less! It has asked for only $15,000 for crowdfunding. When asked about the cancellation, Glowstick Games admitted that they had made a number of mistakes that had to be adjusted.
Dark Deception has a simple but rather fetching concept. The genre is horror in a twisted and repulsive Pac-Man way. There is dark, Gothic mansion featuring a freaky maze, soul shards, neon ghosts and plenty of creepy twists and hideous sights that will make you jump out of your skin every time you come across them.
In the Pac-man style horror game, you have to collect the soul shards before the monsters get to you. Once you have all the soul shards, a puzzle piece will be revealed and a level will be completed. During all this, you will be guided by Helen Bierce, an actress who supposedly vanished into thin air in 1930. The character is voiced by Carolyn Serymour. Bierce will not only guide you, she will also mock you when the monsters catch you. Although the graphic content is limited, it is advisable to stay away from the game if you have a heart condition.
Glowstick Gmaes has already released a demo on their website and Oculus VR Share (Beta). If you think Dark Deception is something you can play, don’t forget to fund them on Kickstarter!
