Payscout Launches VR Payments Application
Payscout announced Payscout VR Commerce, an application that allows users to buy physical products and make easy payments while still in Virtual Reality. Payscout is a global payment processing provider that connects consumers and merchants via debit, credit, ATM, and other alternative payment networks in over 100 countries.
Payscout VR Commerce App Integrated with Visa Checkout
The app comes integrated with Visa Checkout (VCO), which allows consumers to register their payment credentials inside the digital wallet or via their Visa account. The Visa integration is tied to a 360-video experience that is fully immersive and offers the chance to check all sorts of merchandise in a virtual environment. Consumers are going to be able to execute secure and frictionless payments in Virtual Reality.
“This is a watershed moment in payments and VR,” said Payscout CEO Cleveland Brown, in a statement. “We’ve seen many prototypes and simulations of VR shopping, but this is the first time anyone can experience real commerce in VR.”
By launching the app, users will be asked to enter their payment credentials to have access to the stores, then they can select any merchant and be transported to a VR store that resembles the real one.
The virtual store enables users to explore all the different products and interact with them, they can enlarge, rotate and view them from any direction and greater detail. The Payscout VR Commerce app features intuitive menus for a comfortable shopping experience.
“This moment represents the next step in the evolution of shopping experiences,” Brown added. “We’ve seen the emergence and proliferation of both e-commerce and mobile commerce platforms, but this is the world’s first VR Commerce platform.”
The Payscout VR Commerce app is already available in the Google Play Store for the Google Cardboard. The company claims that the technology will soon be adapted for iOS systems and other VR platforms as well.
