Melody managed to sign a worldwide multi-year licensing and distribution deal with these companies and development the team-up calls it a “an extremely significant milestone,” because they will now be able to use their huge music catalog, which includes songs from artists signed by Syco Music, Sony Music Latin, Sony Classical, RCA Records, Masterworks, Legacy, Epic, Columbia, and more. According to several media sites, virtual experiences that feature Sony’s tracks will be on Melody’s platform, but Sony can use them elsewhere it wants after some time.
MelodyVR describes its music platform as a destination for music in virtual reality and it promises to deliver Virtual Reality experiences of live music performances. The app will soon arrive on all major platforms, including the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, Samsung Gear VR, Google Daydream, iOS, and Android. Also, Melody VR reached a deal with Microsoft to bring the app to Windows 10 devices. After signing all of these major deals and partnerships, the company will now focus on expanding, even more, its application distribution network.
There is no clear date for the app to launch, but you can already sign up for early beta access on their website.
