The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 3.1.0 will be going live today and the new update will have an added support for the Labo Toy-Con VR Goggles.

With the new ‘VR Mode’ in the game, players will be able to take on and beat up their friends on a new perspective altogether on the action that can be experienced with the Labo VR Kit. The Switch fighting game will be giving players access to a virtual mode via the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con VR Goggles. It is not the most immersive and high resolution of VR hardware but it is still OK for simple games. The updated version will also enable players to send their amiibo fighters on training missions.

According to a Twitter bot for SSBU patch notes, the new 3.1.0 updated version will be dropping today and will also include the virtual reality mode. The Twitter bot has quite an impeccable track record of accurately divulging these details 12 hours ahead of Nintendo’s official pronouncements. The kind of VR options that will be available to players are still not clear.

The new VR Mode update is coming following similar updates that added virtual reality features to games such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda along with the Breath of the Wild. Following the arrival of the SSBU patch, users will also be able to send their Amiibo Figure Player (FP) fighters into the Battle Arenas as well as on training journeys.

To send off their amiibo on training journeys, users can proceed to Games & More > amiibo menu. They can subsequently send off their battle-hardened FPs to battle it out with other FPs. The amiibos sent out to train will do so relentlessly until they come back home. These Figure Players can subsequently join the Battle Arenas where you will be able showcase your trained amiibos.
